Simon Hardim‚ (Flemish, 1664/72-1737), "Still Life with Tulips, Morning Glories, Iris, Roses, and Other Flowers on a Stone Table", oil on canvas, 25 in. x 20 in., signed faintly lower right on table "S. H...", with brass artist's plaque and conservator's inscription on backing, in a late 18th century gilded wood frame. E7000-10000 Note: Hardim‚ was born at Antwerp in 1664 or 1672, taught painting to his brother Pieter, and eventually moved to London in 1720. He remained there, a successful painter of floral still lifes, until his death in 1737. Reference: B‚n‚zit, p.400.
