Being an old bond exchange for a New one. Document reflects the exchange and is signed by Nicholls and by William Forstall smudged signature . E300-500 Note: Nicholls, Francis T. 1834-1912 Confederate Brigadier General of Louisiana, fought at first Manassas and in Jackson's Valley campaign as lieutenant colonel of the8th Louisiana. He lost his left arm as a result of a wound received atKernstown, and his left foot at Chancellorsville. After the war, Nicholls served as governor of Louisiana and on the state Supreme Court.
