  • Notes: Note: While the Mascot has been called the "official journal of Storyville," it ceased publication in 1895 well before the legal establishment of the red light district. The Harlequin, on the other hand, was published from 1899 to 1909 and, in addition to covering the social aspects of Storyville, included a much broader treatment of national and international politics, as well as arts and literature.
