Sold together with 4 type script pages, being a Provisional film story treatment of "The Gentleman CALLER" later to be called The Glass Menagerie . E800-1200 Note: In May of 1943 Williams was in Hollywood where He was under contract to MGM and was engaged in a re-write of a script for Lana Turner. He was however, more preoccupied with his own "film story treatment" of The Gentleman Caller. In a letter to his agent Audrey Wood back in New York letter preserved in the Harry Ransom Research Center at the University of Texas Austin , He states that... "I have worked this out in spare time since I've been here, but as you know the stage version, in a rough draft, was already written before I signed here. I feel that this could be made into a very moving and beautiful screenplay--much better than the stage version could be..." Ref.
