E2800-3200 Note: In this fascinating photograph of the interior of a salt mine at Avery Island, Fonville Winans set up five flashes to go off simultaneously, since there was no natural light inside the cave. The ghost images of Fonville setting up the flashes can be seen in the lower left of the image.
