E2000/3000 Note: In the early 1930s, the young photographer Fonville Winans purchased a used boat that he renamed the Pintail and traveled the waterways of South Louisiana. At this time many of the rural Cajun communities were isolated and hard to reach by car. Winans trips to this area resulted in a series of photographs documenting the unique culture and traditions of this area.
