E2000-3000 Note: In the late 1930's the handsome young photographer, Theodore "Fonville" Winans ventured into the swamps and bayous of Southern Louisiana on his second hand boat he named the Pintail. At this time much of the bayous and swamps were difficult to reach and were only accessible by boat. The Cajun people, their cabins and way of life were documented by the talented Winans. In the self portrait "Swamp Lunch", Winans has taken a break to enjoy a quick bite to eat.
