Three French Faïence Plates, 18th/19th c., Marseilles, the first with a large central bouquet and edge sprays in the style of Veuve Perrin, c. 1760s or later (diameter 9 5/8 in); the second with a central painting of figures in a coastal landscape, possibly related to the Robert factory, c. 1770s or later, (diameter 9 3/4 in.); the third probably a 19th c. version of earlier styles pioneered by the Veuve Perrin factory (diameter 9 5/8 in.) Reference: First, with a red feathered edge fillet somewhat related to a Veuve Perrin terrine of the 1760s in the Musee Contini, Marseilles (Grand Livre de la Faïence Française, Fribourg, 1986, p. 221, fig. 285); second closely related to paintings on Robert and other Marseilles wares of the 1770s (ibid., p. 222-223, fig. 288, color pl. 289); the third, based on style of Veuve Perrin pieces of 1760 (ibid., p. 218, color pl. 279).
