Tom Richard Cavanaugh (American-Louisiana, b. 1923), 'Sport in the Brook', oil on canvas, initialed lower right, 48 in. x 48 in. E2000- 3000 Provenance: Exhibited in the artist's retrospective exhibition at Louisiana State University in the early 1970's. Purchased from the artist. Note: Tom Cavanaugh was a Professor of Art at Louisiana State University for over fifteen years. He has maintained a career as both artist and educator. Cavanaugh has exhibited at the Corcoran Biennial Museum of Modern Art and Virginia Museum Quadrennial, and taught at Kansas City Art Institute and Washington University School of Fine Arts. Today he is an active member of the art community in Maine.
