Two American Gilt Bronze Gasoliers, one of three arms and one of four arms, late 19th c. and later, with branches resembling those in a Starr, Fellows & Co. catalogue of 1856 (no. 724: D.P. Meyers, Gaslighting in American, Washington, 1978, pl. 33), reassembled with cut-glass globes, socket-saucers and associated prisms, and converted for electricity; together with two supplemental gilt bronze grape- leaf appliques, matching those on three-light example, but in apparently original condition, unpierced for prisms; height of both 33 in.; diameters respectively 27 and 30 in. Provenance: Descended in the J.W. Hincks family, New Orelans.
