Two Chinese Overlay Glass Snuff Bottles, probably 19th c., one a blue overlay colorless glass snuff bottle of flattened form carved through the transparent blue overlay to the bubble-suffused ground with scrolling foliate decoration topped with a cobalt blue glass stopper with a lime green collar, height 2 1/4 in.; the other, a red overlay colorless glass snuff bottle of flattened form carved through the semi-transparent ruby red overlay to the bubble-suffused ground with carp and aquatic plants issuing from wave decorated banding around the base, topped with pink glass stopper, height 3 in. Provenance: From the estate of American diplomat Ellsworth Bunker (1894-1984).
