Two Very Fine American Aesthetic Inlaid Rosewood Chairs, c. 1880-85, New York, attributed to George Shasty, comprising an armchair with incurvate crest, barrel back and rolled arms, the ox- bowed seat rail on tapering legs and quatrefoil feet ending in casters, together with a sidechair en suite, both extensively inlaid with vining, mother-of- pearl and brass stringing, appropriately upholstered in a later silk damask, velvet and gimp, armchair height 35.5in. , width 32.5in. , depth 28 in.
