Will Henry Stevens (American/New Orleans, 1881-1949), "State Capital, Frankfort, Kentucky", pastel, signed lower left, 12.25in. x 8.75in. E2500-3500 Note: Born in Vevay, Indiana, Will Henry Stevens worked as a designer for Rookwood Pottery in Cincinnati and eventually was hired as a Professor of Art at Newcomb College of Art. Stevens was influenced by both the Regional American Impressionist movement favored by the Hoosier Group of artists of his native state and also the emerging modernist movement.
