Will Ousley (American/Louisiana, 1866-1953), "The Old Cypress Tree at Ousley¹s Landing at Bagdad, LA", oil on canvas, signed lower right, signed, titled, dated "1934" and inscribed "The Greatest thought that comes to me as I paint the things I see / is that its only God who can make a tree so let us Ever Faithful Be / till the end of Life¹s Journey we shall see / as strong and sturdy as a Cypress Tree. I was baptized at this place May the 10th 1880 by Rev. J. A. Terry Baptist Minister First Baptist Church at Lake Charles, La. 54 years ago and still live to Praise the Lord for his many Blessings and Mercies to me." 23 in. x 14 in., framed.
