Published: This rare work by Walker was the cover illustration for the first edition of William Aiken Walker, Southern Genre Painter by August Trovaioli and Roulhac Toledano, first published in 1972 The painting is also illustrated on p. 61 of that edition and p. 115 of the 2008 second edition by Pelican Press.
