Bettine Field Carroll

Bettine Carroll graduated from New York University in 1993, and began her career in the arts in the Asian Arts Division at Sotheby’s, New York. In 1996, Carroll was recruited from Sotheby’s by her former employer to help launch a new Asian art gallery in Manhattan’s upper-east-side gallery district. There, she was eventually promoted to Gallery Director. In 2001 Carroll joined the French-owned, New York-based auction house of Phillips, de Pury and Luxembourg as Assistant Director of Trusts & Estates. In 2003, Carroll was recruited by her former Phillips department head to join his newly established firm, Ronald Varney Fine Art Agents, Inc. as a fine art agent representing trusts and estates in the disposition of property at auction. Sales which Carroll participated in there included: Property from the Estate of Katharine Hepburn (Sotheby’s, 2004), Property from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn (Christie’s, 2005), Property from the Estate of Grace Vogel Aldworth (Sotheby’s, 2004), Property sold on behalf of the Dowager Duchess of Bedford (Sotheby’s, 2003). In February 2006, Carroll joined Neal Auction Company as Director of Business Development.
