Athéniennes, c. 1765-1775, the dished circular basins with beaded and guilloche moldings, scallop-fluted bottoms, rams' head terminals above outswept paneled legs with husk-garland decoration, joined by incurvate paneled-edge shelf with circular center molding, over hairy-paw feet (their undersides bored for casters), heights 34 in., widths 27 in., depths 24 in.

Signed F. Linke on mount, the serpentine crest conforming to a break-fronted case with glazed panels, restrained cabriole legs, paw feet, height 104 in., width 80 in., depth 23 in.

c. 1820, Vienna, domed lid painted with signs of the zodiac, fitted interior with mirrored niche, thread spools, and secret drawers, banded inlaid waist, carved lion's mask supports ending in paw feet, incurvate plinth, height 36 in., diameter 16 in.

shaped rouge griotte marble with verde antico border, conforming pierced and foliate scroll carved apron, the carved cabriole legs topped by cabochons, connected by scroll carved stretchers centered by a cabochon, height 34 in., width 90 in., depth 51 in.

with swagged gallery; drop center top with drawers, cupboards and recessed shelf flanked by marble top cupboards, one with shelf and deep drawer, the other having sliding trays, on blocked base, the whole with landscape decoration and bronze mounts, height 42 in., width 103 in., depth 28 in.

after Guillaume Benneman, the demilune variegated marble top, above a conforming case with a central cabinet flanked by side compartments on massive paw feet, the whole mounted with bronze swags, bosses, moldings and classical elements, height 36 in., width 84 in., depth 30 in.

probably early 20th c., monumental scale, marble top, frieze drawer, paneled door enclosing fitted drawers, galleried shelves to either side, tapered legs, h. 37 3/4 in., w. 76 1/4 in., d. 28 in.

mid-18th c., foliate carved stiles, molded drawers with cast brasses, beaded molded scalloped skirt centered by a rococo carved foliate cartouche, on acanthus carved cabriole legs ending in hooves, height 34 in., width 51 1/2 in., depth 27 in.

late 18th c., reticulated broken arch crest with floral terminal, Greek key molded cornice, four intricately carved doors, fabric lined interior with adjustable shelves, lower case with well-fitted writing drawer above four graduated drawers, cupboard door and four graduated drawers to each side, plinth base, height 111 in., width 86 1/2 in., depth 22 in.

c. 1840, attributed to Gillows, inset leather top, frieze with three drawers, each pedestal with three drawers secured by locking pilasters and reverse with bookshelves, molded plinth, casters, one lock marked "Hobbs & Co., London"; five marked "secure", casters stamped "Copes Patent", height 31 in., width 52 in., depth 27 in. 3

probably Continental, well-figured top, ebonized anthemion mounted frieze supported by Classical female terms; the conforming plinth base centered by a bronze urn, height 36 in., diameter 48 in.

mid-18th c., with red campan griotte marble top, Vitruvian scroll carved frieze, raised on acanthus carved, scrolled cabriole legs to the front, guilloche carved supports to the rear, ending in massive paw feet, height 37 1/2 in., width 60 in., depth 29 in.

c. 1800, each having an ebonized incised Greek key crest, caned back and seat, paneled seat rail, the saber legs topped by bosses, fitted with custom-made silk cushions, height 34 1/2 in.

early 19th c., each with tablet crest rail, medial rail with hexagonal tablet centered by fans, molded seat rails with brass band, turned reeded legs.

19th c., variegated white marble top, apron centered by a satyr's mask and flanked by winged caryatid supports, Bacchic masks to the back, cabriole legs entwined with opposing dragons, joined by a shell-carved stretcher, hoof feet, height 37 1/4 in., width 49 in., depth 21 3/4 in.

18th c., serpentine top above apron with center bust, flanked by rocaille carving, on cabriole legs ending in hoof feet, height 30 1/2 in., width 51 1/2 in., depth 26 in.

late 19th/early 20th c., Charles Bernel, Paris, marked, inset tooled leather top, paneled frieze fitted with three drawers to one side, caryatid-mounted cabriole legs, acanthine paw feet, bails marked "EM" for Maison Mottheau et Fils, height 31 in., width 72 1/2 in., depth 38 1/2 in.

c. 1805, the circular tilt top with elaborate arabesque banding, finely molded apron, foliate carved and turned rosewood grained stem, incurvate triangular plinth, brass scroll feet, casters, height 29 in., diameter 48 1/4 in.

18th c., probably Nimes, molded top, pair of long drawers with relief-carved acanthus, center cartouche, boldly carved skirt, on cabriole legs ending in scrolled toes, height 36 1/2 in., width 53 1/2 in., depth 25 in.

comprised of two arm and twelve side chairs, each with shaped arched back, shell carved balloon slip seat, lion's mask carved cabriole legs ending in hairy paw feet; scrolled arms ending in lion masks with acanthine uprights.

c. 1860, possibly Robert Strahan & Co., serpentine top with extensive floral reserve, highly carved scrolled trestle base with figural supports, stretcher centered by a cluster of carved fruit, casters, h. 29 in., l. 60 1/2 in., d. 36 in.

19th c., of generous “palace” size, each having an oval back mounted with bronze paterae, fluted stiles topped by bronze urn finials, scrolled arms, carved seat rail inset with bronze tablets of scrolling leaves, the corners set with paterae on tapered legs with bronze rosettes, connected by a shaped stretcher centered with a large urn finial, height 40 in., width 25 in., depth 22 in.

c. 1880, labeled E. Shaw and Sons, cabinetmakers and upholsterers, Bradford, composed of five sections, the shaped central beveled mirror plate within a door inlaid with exotic woods, brass, pewter and mother-of-pearl; the interior lined in satinwood, the pediment centered by a cherub mask, the expansive wardrobe extensively fitted with various drawers, cabinets, and retaining original finely chased gilt bronze hardware, on a molded plinth, height 105 in., width 158 1/2 in., depth 41 in.

late 18th c., bombé form, marble top, two short over two long drawers, tapered flared legs, extensively inlaid with cherubs, birds, urns, and scrolled floral and foliate vines, h. 35 in., w. 41 in., d. 22 in.

late 19th/early 20th c., Victor Raulin, Paris, labeled, inset marble top, frieze fitted with concealed drawer, paneled doors painted with putti and maidens on a dark green ground, fluted columns to the sides, fluted tapered legs with rosettes, height 39 1/2 in., width 49 1/2 in., depth 19 in.

figured and striated veneered top, bronze chased frieze with Greek Key banding, caryatid supports, height 31 1/2 in., diameter 34 1/2 in.

early 20th c., each with marble top, mounted frieze, central door with cranes, branches, cattails and ferns in the Japanese taste, shaped base, hoof feet, height 42 5/8 in., width 37 in., depth 18 3/4 in.

19th c., the arched superstructure with tooled leather cartonnier drawers centered by a porcelain clock, floral stemmed candle holders and beribboned swags above the inset tooled leather writing surface, drawers within a bronze-mounted skirt, on square tapered legs ending in bronze ball feet, height 45 in., width 50 in., depth 26 in.

late 18th c., the serpentine top above drawers fitted with Battersea enamel pulls, the corners with shell inlays on square tapered legs ending in cuffs, height 34 in., width 80 in., depth 29 1/2 in.

19th c., in the manner of Charles Cressent, inset leather top, frieze fitted with drawers, masques at each end, cabriole legs surmounted by caryatid busts, hairy paw feet, height 31 in., width 79 in., depth 39 in. Note: Exceptionally good "estate" condition.

19th c., incised ebonized scalloped tops, putto supports with swagged fruit garland skirt, scrolled fretwork back, conforming incurvate molded plinth base, height 34 1/2 in., width 47 in., depth 31 in.

mid-18th c., serpentine top, conforming case with two panel carved drawers, reticulated floral carved apron, restrained cabriole legs, scrolled toes, good period bronze pulls and escutcheons, height 37 1/2 in., width 58 1/2 in., depth 26 in.

c. 1810, the paneled doors mounted with Egyptian terms, finely fitted interior with twenty-six graduated drawers, tapering legs in the form of modified Ionic capitals, mahogany secondary wood, height 54 1/2 in., width 38 in., depth 21 in.

19th c., tester with molded cornice above frieze carved with masks and foliage, paneled canopy with acanthus and mask carved spires, headboard carved with niches flanked by various figural carvings, central figural reserve above incised "1899", highly ornamented posts, molded arched foot board carved with masks and gothicized architectural elements, blocked base, disc feet, casters, h. 93 in., l. 79 1/4 in., d. 56 in.

c. 1830, by George Alphonse Jacob-Desmalter (1799-1870), each stamped on underside "Jacob" with lozenge preceding the J. and with the capital letter "A" denoting The Château or Royal Commission; each with rectangular upholstered back, back-scrolled stiles, square seat, saber legs.

18th c., doors and drawer fronts decorated with painted figures of Early Christian Saints centering the Holy Trinity; the base with a drawer on turned legs joined by stretcher, height 71 1/2 in., width 36 in., depth 23 in.

c. 1900, labeled "W. & T. Avery, London & Birmingham", model #1308, scrolled back, padded spindled arms, the seat suspended above the frame with a balance mechanism, the rear frame with hinged compartment, raised on turned tapered legs with brass cup casters, the painted and stenciled balance arm bolted to the side, height 38 in., width 22 in., depth 28 in.

the top centering a bust portrait of Louis XIV wearing the collar of the Ordre du Saint Esprit, the rim inset with 17 oval porcelain portrait medallions representing ladies of his court and a conforming oval porcelain plaque with the Royal arms; all on rose-colored grounds, the charger also with painted and gilt floral borders; the ebonized table support with gilt bronze swag and foliate openwork mounts, above a cusped triangular base, on caster feet, height 31 1/2 in., diameter 30 in.

early 19th c., the molded frieze with classical and Napoleonic motifs including anthemia, beaded medallions and winged caryatid busts; the original divided mirror within a wide foliate and floral molding, the gilded pilasters featuring foliate scrolled capitals centered by swans, stop fluted and blocked at the base, height 99 in., width 64 1/2 in.

19th c., the dentil molded cornice above a fluted frieze centered by drapery swags, the glazed bookcases over paneled cupboards with rosette corners, acanthus and floral moldings raised on acanthus carved cabriole legs ending in hairy paw feet, height 96 1/2 in., width 96 1/2 in., depth 20 in.

mid-18th c., the paneled and finely molded upper case with a bonneted top above a pair of cupboard doors; the conforming base on cabriole legs, a deep colour and patina throughout, height 144 in., width 67 in., depth 23 in.

19th c., London, the desk fitted with drawers and adjustable writing surface, shaped shelves below, overall guilloche mounts centered with floral rosettes, a superstructure of cabinets featuring oval portraits of Mme. de Pompadour and Princesse Lamhalle, the fluted chamfered sides with beaded leafwork pendants, flanking bronzes of Molière and Shakespeare atop foliate plinths, fluted legs with ferrules, height 58 in., width 48 in., depth 22 in.

18th c. and later, gadrooned top, ripple molded drawers to one side, opposing faux drawers, massive turned legs, ring and spiral turned stretcher, h. 33 1/2 in., w. 54 in., d. 29 in.

mid 19th c., inset Greek key tooled leather top, frieze with four drawers on each side, turned reeded tapered legs, casters, h. 31 in., w. 95 in., d. 48 in.

mid-18th c., serpentine top with molded edge above thumb-molded drawers fitted with fine period brasses, scalloped skirt on cabriole legs ending in scrolled toes, scalloped raised panel sides and molded chamfered stiles, height 35 in., width 48 in., depth 27 1/2 in.

c. 1840, of Gothic inspiration, the ends faced with pilasters with carved capitals, the rails of conforming design, height 60 in., width 87 1/2 in., depth 56 1/2 in.

late 18th c., the paneled scalloped molded top with rounded corners, the shaped drawers with carved scalloped panels, conforming scalloped base ending in cabriole legs with scrolled toes, height 35 in., width 51 in., depth 28 in.

late 19th c., in the Adam Taste, with Dutch movement, having a brass finialed broken arch bonnet, above an arched beveled door flanked by reeded corinthian columns, the case with oval glass paneled door enclosing 9 tubes, molded waist and raised panel below, raised on scalloped bracket base, extensively inlaid with tinted light woods and satinwood stringing, height 104 1/2 in., width 22 in., depth 14 1/2 in.

early-to-mid 19th c., the top with reeded edge above drawers and cupboards with ebony inlay, now with gilt term stiles and paw feet with evidence of earlier ebonization, original gilt brass lion's mask pulls, height 37 in., width 90 1/2 in., depth 22 1/2 in.

19th c., rectangular onyx top, skirt with long drawer centered by mounts depicting infant satyrs and swagged garlands, raised on fluted legs, height 29 1/2 in., width 25 1/2 in., depth 16 1/2 in.

late 19th/early 20th c., the fold-over top with bleu celeste Sèvres plaques of a fête galante, opening to a card table with old blue baize playing surface and candle hollows with plaquettes of flower baskets, on shaped apron with cabriole and scrolled sabot feet, height 31 5/8 in., width 39 1/4 in., depth 21 1/2 in.

19th c., with inset tooled leather top, on pedestals fitted with three drawers and three blind drawers on each face, feet with paw sabots, top with glass cover, height 32 in., width 79 in., depth 39 1/2 in.

19th c., the bookmatched top surrounded by a foliate cast bronze molding, the scalloped skirt with long drawer and mounted with various Sevres porcelain plaques, on bronze-mounted cabriole legs, height 29 1/2 in., width 34 in., depth 23

late 19th c., the domed top set with Sèvres bleu celeste rosettes and an oval reserve of cherubs, the eight sides with complementary plaques, on cabriole legs connected by a stretcher shelf, height 31 in., width 20 in., depth 12 in.

c. 1910, having a scalloped gallery surrounding the sloped top with lift cupboards to the front, the interior with drawers, scalloped compartments and small doors, an inset leather writing surface, drawers below, raised on square tapered legs, finely painted with beribboned floral clusters and musical instruments, height 40 in., width 42 in., depth 24 in.

late 19th c., the arched crest above the chased brass and steel face, Westminister chimes, labeled "The Association of Diamond Merchants Grand Hotel Buildings, Trafalgar Square, London", the moon phase arched painted demilune, the case with acanthus and pendant bellflower carving surrounding the shaped glass front, the base with raised shield shaped panels and raised on acanthus carved ogee bracket feet, height 98 in., width 24 in., depth 18 in.
