A Chinese Silk Surcoat, late 19th c., the dark blue silk woven with roundels enclosing dueling dragons and dueling phoenixes symmetrically arranged amid floral sprays, butterflies, insects, and bats above a large hem of frothing waves strewn with Buddhist emblems below dueling four-clawed dragons, height 43 in., width 67 in.
