A Chinese Silk Surcoat, late 19th c., the red silk embroidered in satin stitch with a central front and rear square enclosing an egret on a rock set in water facing the sun, surrounded by floral sprays and bats above a lishui stripe hem with frothing waves strewn with auspicious emblems issuing a terrestrial diagram, height 46 in., width 64 in.
