A Deringer Pistol, mid 19th Century Philadelphia, marked "Deringer/Philadela" on the lock and breech top with a "P" in sunburst the barrel is marked "F.H.Clark & Co./Memphis" with a mahogany grip, length 5.5in. E2500-3500 Note: Founded in 1841, the F.H. Clark firm was derived from the partnership of J.E. Merriman and F.H. Clark who came to Memphis as silversmiths and served as agents for Henry Deringer. James Howard Edmondson and A.C. Wurzbach, an associate of the Clark firm, were connected socially as both were managers for the Pioneer Hook and Ladder No.1 Anniversary Soiree at the famed Gayoso House in Memphis in 1858 and 1859.
