A Fine American Carved Rosewood Sofa in the Louis XVI Taste, c. 1870, attributed to A. and H. Lejambre, Philadelphia, having an arched beribboned and incise carved crest centered by a shield-shaped cartouche and cluster of bellflowers, the uprights turned, blocked, and embellished with acanthus leaves and rosettes and connected to padded acanthus carved arms, a conforming seat rail raised on four turned incised legs to the front and round legs to the back, upholstered in pale yellow silk brocade, height 47.25in., width 73 in. depth 33 in.
