A Fine Pair of Francisco Vargas (active New Orleans 1875-1915) Wax Figures, c. 1880, both in native waxed fabric costume, the fisherman supporting a basket of fish, and holding a fish net and strings of fish, height 15 in.; the female vegetable vendor carrying a large basket of cabbage and root vegetables, another basket of produce under her arm, height 12 in., both on circular stepped wood bases, with later rectilinear glass cases.
