A French Silvered Bronze Gueridon in the Empire Taste, round top with vitruvian scroll border and reserve inset with a roundel depicting two Roman gods signed Levillain, tripodal base with Ionic scrolls and anthemion capital with pinecone finials and medial stretcher surmounted with a figure of a dancing satyr, fluted legs with paw feet on socle plinths, height 31.5in., diameter 14 in. E2500-3500 Note: Ferdinand Levillain (French, 1837-1905) studied under Jouffray, exhibited at the Salon and won a silver medal at the 1889 Exposition Universelle in Paris.
