A Gilt Bronze and Verde Antico Faux-Marbre Sinumbra Lamp, mid-19th c., attributed to Cornelius, Philadelphia, with old cut and etched blown-glass shade, and with trace of old "C" stamp(?) on cast-iron weighting plate inside the base, and with good old plug of former feed-hole, overall height 23 in. Note: The discovery of certain Cornelius objects with "C & Co" stamped into the cast iron plates weighting their bases was announced in L. S. Cooke, Lighting in America, Pittstown, NJ, 1984, p. 171.
