A Newcomb College Art Pottery Matte Glaze Vase, 1915, decorated in blues and green, the rim having a raised jasmine motif, above a long tapering neck ending in a swell body, the base marked with Newcomb cypher, Joseph Meyer's potter's mark, shape number 215, HQ48, and Henrietta Bailey's decorator's mark, height 7.5in., width 4 in. E2000/3000 Note: In 1915 Ms. Bailey taught Pottery Decoration classes at Newcomb College on a substitute basis; she joined the faculty in 1926.
