A Pair of American Classical Mahogany Armchairs in the Gothic Taste, c. 1830, New York, each with crest rail pierced with trefoils, padded scroll arms, ample bowed seat, saber legs.
- Notes: Note: The reticulated trefoil crestrail, bowed seat and saber legs on this pair of chairs are very similar to those on a c. 1847 side chair attributed to J. and J.W. Meeks illustrated in Howe and Warren. The Gothic Revival Style in America 1830-1870, p. 14, fig. 4.
