A Papua New Guinea Carved Wood Male Ancestral Figure, East Sepik Province, probably kwila wood, carved as a standing male with hands resting on hips, the oval face with a flattened facial plane, bulging eyes and protruding nose beneath a high forehead and arched brows, height 30 in., mounted on a wood plinth.
