A Rare and Important Set of Four American Queen Anne Carved Walnut Sidechairs, c. 1760-65, attributed to Jonathan Shoemaker and Samuel Mickle, Philadelphia, the serpentine outlined crestrail centered by a shell, the well-shaped vasiform splat resting on (upholstered) trapezoidal seat frame raised on cabriole legs ending in drake feet, secondary wood: white cedar, height 42.5in.
