Description:

A Set of Six American Modern Gothic Carved and Incised Walnut Side Chairs, late 19th c., attributed to Daniel Pabst, Philadelphia, of angular form, the seat rail incised and with center rosette, the chamfered legs splayed and joined by turned H stretcher, mortised and pegged, in "estate" condition. E1800-2500 Note: The geometric floral decoration and Neo-Gothic form of these walnut chairs is indicative of the work of Daniel Pabst (German/Philadelphia 1826-1910) who used reform-minded designs in part from Frank Furness, Bruce Talbert, Christopher Dresser, and Charles Eastlake.
