A Very Fine French Faïence Covered Beaker Jar and Matching Plate, c. 1750, Moustiers, the jar with full underglaze sepia mark of Olerys and Laugier (with associated letter "A"), décor à grotesques, in delicate tones of orange, ochre green and blue, the deep plate with finely painted orange and green border bands, jar height 6 3/4 in., diameter 5 in.; plate diameter 10 in. Reference: For a nearly identical Olerys-Laugier plate of the 1750s in the Musée de Narbonne, see Grand Livre de la Faïence Française (Fribourg, 1986), p. 150, color pl. 179.
