An American Classical Mahogany Dining Table, early 19th c., in three parts, two consoles with rounded ends; center section with drop leaves, molded skirts, spiral turned legs, brass ferrules, casters, height 28 7/8 in., overall length 115 3/8 in., width 53 7/8 in.
- Provenance: Provenance: To Miss Ima Hogg from Mrs. Jones (Frances J.) Bidwell, New York, NY, 1963; thence to Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Bayou Bend Collection, gift of Miss Ima Hogg; accompanied by a copy of a letter from Mrs. Jones Bidwell to Mr. David Stockwell of Wilmington, DE, describing the table as having descended in her family through her great grandfather, Captain Joseph Jones (b. 1779), who fought in the War of 1812
