An American Federal Mahogany, Ebony, Satinwood and Rosewood Inlaid Tambour Front Writing Desk, c. 1785-1800, inscribed "F.C." in pencil, school of John Seymour & Son, Boston, the tambour inlaid with ellipses, enclosing fitted interior, foldout writing surface above cockbeaded drawers with period pulls, on square tapered legs with stringing and inlays throughout, height 46 3/4 in., width 41 3/4 in., depth 21 1/2 in.
