An American Late Classical Figured Mahogany Pier Table, c. 1830, New York, attributed to J. & J.W. Meeks, the original black and gold serpentine outlined marble top above a conforming frieze, the canted scrolled supports raised on a concave plinth, the mirrorback flanked by Gothicized pilasters, and resting on scrolled feet, height 36 in., width 40 in., depth 17.5in Note: A nearly identical table bearing a Meeks paper label is in the collection of Dr. Dubs Townhouse, Natchez MS, which is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
