An American Neo-Grec Ebonized Walnut and Burl Walnut Dresser, mid- 19th century Philadelphia, the carved and molded mirror frame with anthemion finials and elaborately carved stiles flanked by candle shelves, original shaped rouge marble top over three graduated drawers adorned with molded and incised panels and flanked by corner columns, the conforming plinth on suppressed disc feet, height 81 in. width 52 in., depth 26 in. E2000-3000 Note: Whilst a great deal of second half nineteenth century furniture made in Philadelphia remains unattributed, this well-appointed dresser, lot 459, by virtue of exact and refined carved architectonic elements and the usage of incising, finely figured walnut and ebonized molding is closely associated with the work of Daniel Pabst.
