An American Painted Pine Miniature Dower Chest, mid-19th c., possibly North Carolina or Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, having a dark painted surface, the lift off lid with a "Fraktur" watercolor of birds, tulips and hearts beneath a glass panel, the face of the chest with a larger watercolor panel flanked by heart-shaped cut outs, long drawer, scalloped skirt and bracket feet, height 12 in., width 16 in., depth 8 1/4 in.
