An American Rosewood, Verde Antico and Gilt Pier Table, early 19th c., attributed to Cook and Parkin, Philadelphia, marble top above molded frieze, scrolled stenciled supports to the front with foliate-carved oval bosses, arched mirrored back, gadrooned plinth, foliate-carved bulbous feet, height 37 1/4 in., width 45 3/8 in., depth 20 1/8 in.

  • Notes: Note: The cabinet-making firm of Cook and Parkin produced exceptional furniture, most notably a pedestal sideboard after a design by Thomas Hope, now in the Baltimore Museum of Fine Art. The boldly scrolled supports on this table can be seen on a number of tables by high-end Philadelphia cabinetmakers.
