An English Blue Transfer-Printed Ceramic 'Lafayette' Plate, early 19th c., blind-stamped with the mark of Enoch Wood & Sons, Burslem, Staffordshire, the reverse with a transfer-printed label reading 'East View of La Grange / the residence of the Marquis [de] Lafayette', probably made for the American market, c. 1818-1834, diameter 9.25in. Reference: William Chaffer, Marks and Monograms on European and Oriental Pottery and Porcelain, Los Angeles, 1946, p. 683, for this version of the stamp; and Geoffery A.
