An Interesting American Renaissance Mahogany Slant Front Desk, c. 1870, attributed to Kimbel & Cabus, New York, the top with spindled gallery centered by a patinated medallion bust of Victor Hugo, flanked by two short drawers, the raised panel lid opening to a fitted maple desk interior, the cupboard doors below with patinated and silvered panels of Penelope and Odysseus, the sides with raised panels, resting on shoe feet, ornate pierced brass strapwork overall, height 46.5in., width 28.5in., depth 16 in.
