  • Provenance: Provenance : Purchased from the current owners of the house where Anne Wells Munger lived at the end of her life in Worcester, Massachusetts. Note: Although primarily based in Worcester, Massachusetts, and Pass Christian, Mississippi, Anne Wells Munger is known to have traveled throughout the United States, according to the Historical Society. Munger studied with artists Joseph Rodefer DeCamp and Philip Leslie Hale at the Boston Museum School as well as with George DeForest Brush and Charles Herbert Woodbury. This painting includes more naturalistic tones, similar to those in the landscapes of Joseph DeCamp.
