China Trade, 19th c., "Garden Ceremony", a Chinese reverse glass painting depicting a man and a woman in an outdoor garden setting; the woman shown kneeling before a censer, the man depicted standing behind, beneath a gnarled pine holding a fan, sight 15 1/4 in. x 11 1/2 in., in an original hardwood frame with original wood backing. Provenance: Purchased in Asia during the 1920s, thence by descent to the current owner.
