A Pair of Chinese Sancai Glazed Pottery Earth Spirits, probably Tang Dynasty (618-907), one with a cloven hooved leonine body, human face, single horn, large ears, and wings; the other with similar body, lion head, branched horns, and flared ears, each on a rockwork base, height 25 1/2 in. and 27 3/4 in., accompanied by an Oxford Authentication TL Report. Note: The dating of the second figure in this lot is consistent with the results of Oxford Authentication Ltd. thermoluminescence test no. C105n14.
