Civil War, Confederate New Orleans-ordnance A.d.s. Richard Lambert, Major, Ordnance Dept, C.S.A. A partially printed, single page ordnance document, being a receipt for 900 Enfield Rifles and 48, 000cartridges for same. Received at New Orleans on 18th September, 1861 from M. Grivot, Adjutant General of Louisiana. E400-600 Note: The warhad not reached the borders of Louisiana, but this did not prevent NewOrleans troops from arming themselves and taking part in campaigns across the country. The Enfield Rifle proved to be the weapon of choice for many Confederate troops. Very Fine on blue faintly lined paper with two folds.
