E2000/3000 Note: Born in Brownsville, Tennessee, Mary Moore studied art at the New York School of Fine and Applied Art, and Art Institute of Chicago under William Merritt Chase and Robert Henri. Moore was known for her impressionist landscapes. She became director of the Memphis Schools. Ref: Falk, Peter, Who Was Who in American Art 1564-1975, Sound View Press, 1999, p.2320.
