Prentice Hall Polk (American/Alabama, 1902-1984, "The Boss", gelatin silver print, signed lower left, sight 9.25in. x 7 in E300/500 Note: African-American photographer Prentice H. Polk documented life in Alabama from 1920 to 1984. For more than four decades, Polk was chairman of the photography department at Tuskegee Institute. At the same time, he maintained a professional photography studio. Polk's photographs focused on southern life including families, politicians, dignitaries and rural communities.
