Description:

Rudolf Levy (German, 1875-1944), "Beyond the Red Fields", oil on canvas, signed "R. Levy" lower right, 18 in. x 24 in., in a cove-molded frame. Provenance: Purchased from the artist in Berlin before 1928 by Hans and Margot Zweig. Hidden from the Nazis during W.W.II. After the war ended, it was brought to the United States by Mrs. Zweig. Thence descended in the family to the consignor.
