Western Union, dated October 16, 1946, to Tennessee Williams, 6321-2 St. Peter St., New Orleans from Audrey Wood Williams' agent in New York confirming sale of movie rights of The Glass Menagerie. "Quite officially Charles K. Feldman Group Productions have purchased picture rights Menagerie on basis of my wire to you dated October eleventh. Deal calls for one half payment onsigning of contract and remaining half to be paid on January fifteenth nineteen forty seven..." Telegram discounts Louella Parsons' story that Feldman paid five hundred thousand for the rights, regrets not having done better on price but states that... " Percentages involved will bring up sale to much higher figures after picture is made..." Telegram closes..."If anybody contacts you for definite figures, referall inquiries to me and don t make any statements." Sold together with a torn fragment of a News clipping reporting the Louella Parsons story.
