Two Papua New Guinea Carved and Painted Wood Figural Groups, East Sepik Province, the first, Wosera, carved to the lower portion as a large head supported on a cylindrical neck, the upper portion carved as a hornbill, height 24 1/2 in.; the second, Tambanum, possibly a flute stopper, carved in the form of a sea eagle with a long arched beak and cowry shell eyes, the reverse carved in a mask form, height 12 in., each mounted on a square wood plinth, (2 pcs.)
