Appended is typewritten memo from Audrey Wood Williams' agent dated incorrectly 1945, accounting for the authors share of the proceeds E373. 01 and advising the payment was being deposited into the author's account. Note: The Glass Menagerie was published on July 31, 1945 by Random House, New York, the play having premiered in Chicago on December 26, 1944 at the Civic Theatre. The plays run in New York opened at the Play house Theatre on M arch 31, 1945 This document therefore, represents the first Royalty payment received by Tennessee Williams for his first published book and is offered with its Liebling-Wood envelope addressed to Williams at 710 Orleans, New Orleans, Louisiana and postmarked New York, January 19, 1945 2 pm franked Grand Central Annex.
